Italian Ambassador Presents His Letter of Credence to President Elbegdorj

Mr. Attilio Massimo Iannucci, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Mongolia presented his letter of credence to Tsakhia Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia.

After the ceremony President Elbegdorj received the ambassador and discussed about bilateral ties and cooperation between Mongolia and Italy.

When Italian Ambassador Iannucci called on the President of Mongolia, President Elbegdorj expressed Mongolia’s interests to cooperate Italy – one of G-8 countries in the fields of food, agriculture, tourism, arts and culture. President Elbegdorj appreciated the confirmation of the Italian party for its invitation of the visit of the President of Mongolia to Italy. Ambassaor Iannucci noted that the visit of the President of Mongolia to Italy will be significant to expand bilateral ties and cooperation.

Mongolia began to trade with Italian companies from 1973. Mongolia mainly imports equipment, food, shoes, clothes from Italy, and exports leather, wool and cashmere to Italy. 44 Italian companies have been registered as investors in trade, food services, agriculture, light and food industry, tourism, health, banking, and construction sectors. Examples of them are Futura Evolution (banking services), Buligaar (leather factory), and Futura Fashion (sewing and shoe factory).
