Elbegdorj: Army Personnel Shall Serve for the Common Interests of Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

On the occasion of Mongolian Soldiers Day, Tsakhia Elbegdorj, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Mongolia made a congratulatory address to the representatives of the citizens of the capital and army personnel at the congress in Central Cultural Palace.

President Elbegdorj said: “Mongolia has peaceful foreign policy. This means that Mongolia respects the interests of other countries all the time and any of Mongolia’s policy shall not be against any other country. On the other hand, it means that Mongolia shall have capacity to protect our national interests and help other states for peace purposes. Also the above means that at the request of the United Nations, Mongolia will actively and honorably participate in peacekeeping operations…

Recently, in its resolution, the United Nations Security Council praised Mongolia, the Armed Forces of Mongolia, namely our Armed Forces personnel those have been participating in the peacekeeping operations abroad. This is a clear indicator that Mongolia’s Armed Forces is serving at global level…

Today in other countries particularly when Japan faces devastating natural disasters, the personnel of the State Emergency Agency of Mongolia went to Japan to help for rescue operations. Many Mongolian Armed Forces and Emergency Agency personnel and officers expressed their readiness to go and help Japan on spot. While some ordinary citizens come back to Mongolia from Japan, our Emergency Agency personnel those took oath are leaving to Japan to help. The Armed Forces and Emergency Agency personnel with duties should be like this. Twelve rescuers of Mongolia are working in Japan today. They are our personnel who took oath. We see that the personnel of our State Emergency Agency proudly and exemplary work…

In general, in peace time our Armed Forces should be a construction force. Mongolia’s Armed Forces shall be a place to prepare patriotic, super and exemplary citizens. Serving in the army is an honorable deed… People understand that the army personnel’s profession is useful for our country. People those served in the army become the most reliable and skillful people with highly competitive abilities and capable of transforming to any profession. The reason is that the people feel the value of respectful army oath “I will serve for Mongolia.”

Let the foundation of Mongolian state be firm, the soul and spirit of Mongolians be always high, and reputation and honor of Mongolian soldiers forever flourish.”
