Following the ceremony of presenting the credentials, President Elbegdorj received the newly appointed Ambassador.

Socialist Republic of Vietnam is one of the key partners of Mongolia in South East Asia and Mongolia accords high attention to expanding relations and cooperation with Vietnam. “The peoples of our countries have maintained friendship for over a half a century now, helping each other in hard times, learning more of each other and sharing achievements and success of development. And this friendship is our main achievement” – noted President Elbegdorj.

During the meeting, President Elbegdorj emphasized that the trade turnover between the two countries has increased with more vigorous cooperation in agriculture, education, culture, health and tourism, yet, it is crucial to expand the flow of goods and services and enrich the economic content of our bilateral cooperation.

President recalled with warmth his meeting with the President of Vietnam during the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, marked in Moscow past May, and congratulated Vietnam on its recent accession to the membership of CICA during the CICA Summit earlier this month in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ambassador Thin said he was happy to be appointed to Mongolia as an Ambassador, …
“a country with heroic history and brotherly people”, as was articulated by the Ambassador. “The people of Vietnam have always been grateful to the Mongolian people for the help and assistance rendered during the times of hardships. Our two countries do not have any political issues, we are both rich in mineral resources, our people are full of enthusiasm – I am happy to serve in a country sharing these wonderful features with my country. I will spare no efforts to bolster relations between our two countries and I will work hard to develop relations in the sectors Mr. President noted” – said Ambassador Thin.
Ambassador Thin graduated from the Mongolian National University and the Mongolian
Agriculture University respectively and majored in international economic relations at the Moscow University. Ambassador Thin is fluent in Mongolian, Russian, English and Korean languages and has been serving in diplomatic missions since 1983.
