French Ambassador to Mongolia Receives Mongolia’s State Decoration, the Medal of Friendship

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of France, President Elbegdorj decreed to confer the Mongolian State Decoration – the Medal of Friendship, to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of France to Mongolia Mr. Jean-Paul Dumont, noting his remarkable contributions to the development and expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation between Mongolia and France.
Ambassador Dumont graduated from the Institute of Oriental Languages in France and is a skilled diplomat with the title of the Senior Advisor for Foreign Affairs, fluent in English, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese and Vietnamese.
Ambassador Dumont started his diplomatic career in 1971 with his first diplomatic assignment at the French Embassy in Ulaanbaatar, where he served 4 years.
Since 1975 Mr. Dumont served on important diplomatic posts including French diplomatic missions in the US, Vietnam, Brazil, Belgium, AEC and CARICOM, the Caribbean Community until he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from France to Mongolia in July 2009.
