President pays tribute to Nine White Banners, attends State “Zolgolt”

In the morning of February 16th, the first day of Lunar New Year, on the threshold of the Year of the Earth Dog, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga paid tribute to state symbol of Mongolia - the Nine White Banners. After this, the President hosted senior citizens in the ceremonial hall of State Palace.

President Khaltmaagiin Battulga was welcomed by Speaker of the State Great Khural M.Enkhbold and Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh with blue “khadak” in their hands at the State Ceremonial Ger. They participated in the state greeting ceremony “Zolgolt” and greeted with each other exchanging khuurug (snuff bottle). While exchanging the snuff bottles, they discussed the prospects for the Year of the Dog together with the Khamba D.Choijamts, head of the Center of Mongolian Buddhists – Gandantegchinlen Monastery, and Khamba Ch.Dambajav, head of Dashchoilon Monastery.

Mr. Tserendorj, merited artist of Mongolia, played the State Great Morin Khuur and sang traditional praise song in honor of the Mongolian people and the State, inviting joy and prosperity for the nation.
