Since the 850th Anniversary of birth of the Great Chinggis Khaan, Mongolians have been publicly celebrating the Anniversary as the National Pride Day. Mongolians solemnly celebrate the National Pride Day proudly remembering the culture and heritage, history and tradition of our ancestors, wishing for a better future on the first day of every first winter month.

Our ancestors taught us to respect our birthday. Mongolians are the people who envisage and predict the future based on their historical experiences. We have ancestors to follow and history to take pride in. Our pride is our legacy, wealth and unique history and culture created by Mongol nation. Our pride is our country, independence and prosperity. Our pride is our past, present and future. Therefore, we pray to our great ancestors, assess our present, strive for a better future, on the first day of every first winter month.

The Great Chinggis Khaan is the greatest pride of the Mongol people. Chinggis Khaan was a Mongolian who overcome the miseries of human live and achieved the Tengri divinity. Chinggis Khaan lives on like a golden arrowhead shot through the time and shining out of a hundred thousand arrowheads. Chinggis Khaan left his best for Mongolia. He left the great history, orders and state tradition of Mongolia. The state established by Chinggis Khaan is prospering with its seal and people intact.

We should be proud and learn the lessons, heritage and glory of our great Khaan. We know that Chinggis Khaan used to overcome difficulties and challenges uniting the people and avoiding villains’ provocations. Mongolians are respecting the knowledge and gift of our great Khaan. Our policy-makers should not forget that Chinggis Khaan respected and prioritized the people’s common interest more than his luxury palace and king’s privilege. Chinggis Khaan was a leader who preferred peace and mercy over revenge and war. He never bore a grudge against anyone, never complained and never meant any harm to society. We should never forget an old saying “The greatest pride of a good state is good order, good law and good public servant”.

A national pride is a fine legacy and heritage built by the nation. Every nation has a good legacy and it lives on despite the length of time and human fate. A national pride is a good heritage and culture which are being passed by the people on to the younger generations. And today Mongolians are creating their national pride too.
