Discussions Held on Establishing Library Named after the President

One of the commonalities among countries attaching high importance to their cultural and historical heritage is that most of them have libraries honored after their President, playing a vital role in the cultural life of the country.

Today, Dr. G. Akim, Head of the National Central Library, meet the President of Mongolia, and exchanged views on establishing “President’s Library,” and initiating a Law on Library. Dr. Akim stressed the historical role the Library could play, and added that while the establishment would not be named after one specific President, it will however contain biographies and memoirs of Emperors, Leaders, and Presidents who, once through the rich history of Mongolia, ruled and governed the country.

President Elbegdorj expressed his support for this initiative, saying concrete work should follow this discussion.
