REMARKS BY H.E. MR. TSAKHIAGIIN ELBEGDORJ, PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIA, AT THE STATE BANQUET

Dear Guests,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,
In these beautiful summer days of sun, rain and bloom, the people of Mongolia are joyfully celebrating our great national festivity, the Naadam. On behalf of my family, I extent my sincere gratitude along with our best wishes to you, esteemed guests and friends, for accepting our invitation to the State Banquet in Honor of the National Festivity Naadam.
We, Mongolians, wait for Naadam for a whole year. And this year-long waited festivity is not only a moment of celebrating our heartfelt rejoice, but also is a special instance to expose the spectacles of our history and culture. Stout wrestlers, horse tenders, sharp archers, melodious singing of giingoo of children-jockeys, ripe mare’s milk – these are all the sights and sounds, hues and colors of Naadam.
I am profoundly delighted to have been able to share the joy of Naadam with our esteemed guests and dear friends from afar and near.
Mongolia, a country of an ancient history, has been thriving and aspiring prosperity, maintaining intact its intrinsic features. The success and accomplishments of Mongolia are not only the achievements of millions of our citizens, but also are a fruit of collective efforts and hard work of many people which cooperate with our country, our organizations and people.
Taking this opportunity to reiterate my deep gratitude to you, esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen, for accepting our invitation to the State Banquet tonight, I raise my festive cup of milk:
- To Your sound health and robust mind,
- To the development and prosperity of Mongolia,
- And to the peace and harmony in the world.
